Sorry it's been a while since I last wrote - but I guarantee you I have not been slacking!
Yes. Instagram is a blast, isn't it? I've already made a lot of new friends there and seen some amazing content in the process.
Yes, I know Amazon is filled with thousands (if not millions) of authors - all clamouring for your pennies too! I think I got up to being ranked about #20,900 at one point! Not that anyone's counting of course.
However, with Instagram, I have actually talked to some of them and seen the work first hand. It's great to know there are other people out there, also making the same journey. I won't bore you with the 'what ICC colour profile should I be uising for Ingram Spark, if at all?' debate... but I'm certainly searching for the answer!
I've had the first books printed by Ingram Spark back and they do look lovely. The paper quality is lovely and thick too. But I would like to tweak the color a little if I can just to bring that wonderful richness of Jackies watercolors back in.
The great thing about Ingram, is they do hardback printing as well, so I'm going to try another color profile and see how that works in the hardback version before making any fast decisions.
So what else have I been up to - well, with some spare time doodling with digital art - see below - but also trying some new watercolour painting for my new story which I'm building at the moment. Not only do I have to literally 'brush up' my artistic skills, but I also have to decide which medium the pictures will be in. Will they be digital? (infinitely configurable). Will it be coloured pencil? (easy to hold and use). Or will it be watercolour? (Easy to make a mess with. haha).
In any case there's lots to do. So see you soon for another update. Meanwhile if you haven't visited the Instagram page yet, give it a go! Remember to tag yourself #imadinofan as well if you post there!
P.S. Plan to change the facebook page to Singing Frog Publishing soon, from Bradley and the Dinosaur... so look out!
